Introduction
Today, I am reporting on Strathearn Distillery, a relatively new whisky distillery (est. 2013) at Strathearn, in central Scotland. This location is about fifty-five miles N.W. of Edinburgh.
Etymology: Strathearn may translate as ‘Valley of the River Earn’ with latter being a very ancient, pre-Celtic word for water.

Facts and information on Strathearn Distillery
Output: This is about 20,000 litres p.a.which ranks Strathearn as one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland. For comparison, the likes of Glenlivet and Glenfiddich produce around 13m litres p.a.

Category: The single malt falls into the Highland category and is unpeated.
Single Malt: Marketed as ‘Strathearn Single Malt’ and priced at about GBP85.00 (about USD111,00) per bottle.
Other Products: This craft distillery also produces gin and rum.
Whisky Casks: The distillery also offers for sale 50 litre casks of whisky matured in a range off flavours including Oloroso, PX, French Oak and ex-Scotch Whisky. If purchased, such casks will have to be stored at the distillery until bottled and tax paid.
