Introduction

Tonight, I am posting information on Isle of Arran Brewery, a craft micro-brewery. This is located near Brodick, the principal town on Arran (pop 4600) which is located off Scotland’s West Coast.

Information on the brewery

This twenty year-old business has developed an established niche in the market. Offering comprises eleven beers led by the popular Arran Blonde. ABV of the beers ranges between 6pct and 3.8pct.

The brewing process is augmented by the island’s unique water and finest natural ingredients. Thus the brewery produces a wide range of beers and ales to suit every palette.

In August 2020 Arran Brewery came under the reigns of new Head Brewer, Craig Laurie who has introduced new ideas.Craig also has a desire to push the brewery to greater heights of quality and improved standards.

Since it’s founding in 2000, Arran Brewery has tended to receive at least one award a year for it’s beers.

Awards

2018: Arran Blonde won silver in the category of Scotland Keg Strong Bitters & Pale Ales at SIBA’s Regional Independent Keg Beer Awards.

2019: Arran Brewery Dug won silver in the category of Cask IPA (5.5 to 6.4%) at SIBA Scotland Independent Beer Awards

2020: Arran Dark won bronze in the category of Scotland Keg British Dark Beers (up to 4.4%), and Arran Blonde won bronze in the category of Scotland Keg Premium PAs (4.4 to 5.4%) at SIBA’s Regional Independent Keg Beer Awards.

Arran Blonde has also won Gold in the category of Worlds Best Pale Golden Ale in the 2020 World Beer Awards.
