Introduction

This evening, I am reporting on Otter Ferry, a small settlement on the Cowal peninsula in Argyll and Bute. This was formerly the site of a ferry across Loch Fyne. Otter Ferry is situated 9 miles from Portavadie from where there is a ferry to Tarbert, in Kintyre.

How to reach Otter Ferry by road

From Glasgow drive round to Gourock and connect with the ferry across the Firth of Clyde to Dunoon. Then drive for about 1 hour west along a narrow, winding road reach Otter Ferry.
