Introduction

This evening I am providing an outline of an Aberdeen tour. Information and images are consequent on free time pending commencement of a three day whisky tour.

This famous old city displays fascinating ecclesiastical and civic architecture, as evidenced by the images above and below.

I took the opportunity to spend the evening walking around the city and harbour taking photographs

Aberdeen is known as the ‘Granite City’ because of the type of stone of which most properties here are constructed.

Although originally a small fishing village many years ago, Aberdeen grew and prospered as a support base for the North Sea oil industry but has suffered decline in recent years. The oil industry is now under focus due to the impact of climate change.
