This evening, I am posting information on the village of Aberlour in Speyside, Scottish Highlands

Summary information as follows:

• Population: 975.
• Located about 55 miles east of Inverness.
• Home to Aberlour Distillery and Walkers Shortbread both of which have shops and visitor centres.
• On route of the Speyside Way hiking trail.
• The River Spey runs to the west of the village. This is known for salmon fishing and for Scotland’s largest whisky producing region.
• Home to church, cemetery, various small shops and accommodation providers.
• Well placed for visiting whisky distilleries such as Macallan, Glenfiddich, Glenfarclas and Glen Grant.
