Summary information as follows:
- Population: 975.
- Located about 55 miles east of Inverness.
- Home to Aberlour Distillery and Walkers Shortbread both of which have shops and visitor centres.
- On route of the Speyside Way hiking trail.
- The River Spey runs to the west of the village. This is known for salmon fishing and for Scotland’s largest whisky producing region.
- Home to church, cemetery, various small shops and accommodation providers.
- Well placed for visiting whisky distilleries such as Macallan, Glenfiddich, Glenfarclas and Glen Grant.
