Introduction

This evening I am reporting on a large group hike covering six miles/10 km around Darnley Country Park, Glasgow. This took place during winter on location south of Glasgow, Scotland.

Information on the Hike around Darnley Country Park

The weather was unusually mild for the time of year, although very wet and muddy underfoot. The principal constituent of Darnley Country Park is the Barrhead Dams which comprise a series of interconnected reservoirs. Running through the Park are two burns (streams), namely the Brock Burn and the Aurs Burn. As illustrated below, the Park offers a well maintained network of paths for walkers and cyclists for multi purposes.
