Howwood

Introduction

This post records an ancestry themed tour.based on Howwood.

Firstly, I collected guest from Paisley and drove him to Howwood (pop1450) . This is a large village near Johnstone and about 20 mins S.W. of Paisley in the west of Scotland.

At Howwood we met with a local resident who escorted us on a tour of the village. The emphasis was on connections.with guest’s ancestral connections. These included the parish church, railway station, bowls club, George Street and sites connected with historic textile bleaching.
