Culzean Castle

Culzean Castle

Introduction

This evening, I am reporting on yesterday’s very satisfying trip to Culzean Castle on Scotland’s Ayrshire coast.

Information on the trip to Culzean Castle.

For some time my wife, myself and a friend had planned to visit the site. The castle sits at the heart of a large estate located about one hour south of Glasgow. Sadly, there is no access via bus or rail leaving motor transport the only option.

Culzean is a Gaelic word pronounced ‘Cullane’.

I last reported on Culzean Castle in 2020 and hence I don’t propose to repeat the key historic and architectural information here. This post focuses on the landscapes, seascapes, nature, insects, birds, outdoor art work and more. Photography was helped by a dry day augmented by sunshine.
